Few shows are as much fun to watch and immediately argue about as Black Mirror. Smart, provocative, funny and frequently uncomfortable, its best episodes give you situations with no easy answer, and Striking Vipers is a perfect example. Let's watch its strangest and most revealing scenes together, and let's discovering how differently everyone in the room interprets them.
Hosted by Chris, whose clubs are always packed with laughter and interaction, this session will use Striking Vipers to explore the different personas we have inside our relationships. Are you the same person with your partner as you are with your closest friends? What about with colleagues, family, or someone you meet online? Do different relationships simply reveal different sides of one authentic self, or are we constantly becoming slightly different people depending on who's standing in front of us? Through the episode's wonderfully strange relationships, we'll explore friendship, romance, attraction, identity and the parts of ourselves that sometimes only particular people seem able to unlock.
And then things get properly Black Mirror. If you behave completely differently in a virtual world, is that person still "you"? Can something count as cheating if it happens through another identity? Can a friendship contain feelings that neither person fully understands—and does every feeling actually need a label? Expect fascinating scenes, ridiculous situations, plenty of laughs and some surprisingly personal questions about the roles we play with the people closest to us. You don't need to have seen Striking Vipers before—just come ready for an amazing episode and the kind of conversation that might make you look at your own relationships a little differently afterwards.
