No knowledge of US politics is necessary to join this club. Adam will take you through the circus, and we'll discuss together.
Who will be America’s next president? And do we have any idea yet who will even be running? Join Adam, a politics and history expert, for a guided tour through the rapidly changing world of American politics as the country heads towards the 2026 midterms and, beyond them, the 2028 presidential election. Who are the likely contenders? Which familiar political figures are still hanging on after decades in Washington, and who are the younger rising names suddenly becoming major players? We’ll also look at Donald Trump’s current political difficulties and what changing public opinion could mean for both Republicans and Democrats as they begin positioning themselves for what comes next. And beneath all the personalities lies a bigger question: how much does changing the president actually change America?
If American politics normally looks like a big incomprehensible mess, this club is especially for you. As the discussion unfolds, Adam will explain how American elections, campaigns and government actually work, why the upcoming midterms matter, how candidates emerge and why winning the most votes isn’t always enough to become president. Absolutely no previous knowledge is required, and all questions are welcome, including the ones you think you’re supposed to already know the answers to. Come for the personalities, predictions and political drama, and leave with a much clearer understanding of the strange system that chooses one of the most powerful people in the world.
