Intensive Debate Training & Championship

This month-long intensive debate programme will be coached by Clayton Engleby of WSDA, and will include official certification upon completion.

Debate is about far more than winning arguments. It's one of the world's best training grounds for critical thinking, public speaking, persuasion, leadership, and clear communication. Whether you're looking to excel professionally, become a stronger communicator, or simply sharpen your thinking, this intensive six-week programme will give you practical skills that last a lifetime.

Led by Clayton Engelby, an experienced debate coach who has coached national champions and elite competitors, this small-group programme combines personalised coaching with hands-on practice. You'll learn both impromptu and prepared debating, develop skills in argumentation, rebuttal, cross-examination, strategic thinking, and public speaking, and receive structured feedback throughout. Participants will work individually and in teams before culminating in a formal championship-style debate judged by a panel of professional adjudicators. The programme includes six intensive two-hour sessions, a final judged debate, and a one-on-one coaching session with Clayton after completion. All participants will receive official WSDA & Popcorn Club certificates, with additional awards for top performers. No previous debate experience is required—just curiosity, commitment, and a willingness to challenge yourself.
