In this specialty club, you'll use 3D printing software and hardware to create your own vase. You'll learn as you do, about the whole 3D priniting process, from start to finish.

A gentle curve. An unexpected proportion. A vase on your desk that makes you pause for a second look. This familiar everyday object can carry your own design ideas. For the first workshop in CuriooWorks’ new creative community for adults, Popcorn and CuriooWorks invite you to explore one theme: the 3D-printed vase. Over two hours, Jennifer will guide you through the outlines, proportions and forms of a vase and into digital modelling. You’ll experiment with lines and shapes, discover how your personal taste comes through in your design, and learn how a 3D printer builds a physical object layer by layer.

No design background, software experience or fully formed idea is needed—bring your curiosity, and we’ll help you get started. There will also be time to share ideas, discover what others are making and meet people with a similar interest in design and technology. Computers, 3D printers and materials will be provided, although two participants may share a laptop depending on attendance; you’re also welcome to bring your own laptop and power adapter. Vases will be printed according to the workshop schedule, and if yours is still being printed when the session ends, we’ll let you know when it is ready to collect. Spend an afternoon giving an idea a shape of its own.

不需要设计背景，也不用有软件经验，甚至不需要脑子里已经有个完整的想法——带上你的好奇心就行，我们会帮你起步。现场还会有时间让大家互相分享创意，看看别人都在做什么，认识一群同样对设计和技术感兴趣的朋友。电脑、3D打印机和材料都会提供，不过根据到场人数，可能两个人共用一台笔记本；你也可以自带电脑和电源适配器。花瓶会按工作坊的排期统一打印，如果结束时你的花瓶还没打完，我们会通知你什么时候可以来取。花一个下午，给脑子里的想法一个属于自己的形状。
