Capoeira is a fighting style that's as beautiful as it is deadly. But it's not as much about fighting as it is about health, music, dance and friendship, yes, freindship! The Capoeira dance is two people playing together to the music of the Roda in a circle of friends. It needs to be experienced to be understood so let's do just that!The art of Capoeira comes from slaves in Brazil who weren't allowed to teach each other to fight so they developed a fighting style that looks like a dance and comes complete with its own music, Roda. In this club, instructor Nico form france and his top student Ming from China will give you an introduction to what Capoeira is and how it came here. Also joining the club will be some beginner students who have been learning for just a few months so you can see where you'll be very soon if you choose to join more often.In true Popcorn Club style, there will be a presentation and a discussion and then we'll get to it! You'll do a warm up and get to understand the dialogue and the game of Capoeira. In this workshop, you'll learn the movements and try them for yourself at your own pace under the guidance of professionals. Feel the music, meet the people, play the game!
