Join us for an intelligent debate on China's population crisis and its historic demographic shift, where we'll examine one of the biggest long-term questions facing the country from multiple sides, from falling birth rates and an ageing society to work, gender roles, immigration, economic growth and the changing meaning of family.

The debate will be hosted by Clayton, an internationally award-winning debater and debate coach, who'll help turn these enormous questions into clear, provocative motions with strong arguments on both sides. You won't need to be an expert on demographics or economics, and you may even find yourself defending a position you don't personally agree with. That's part of the challenge. Along the way, you'll practise building arguments, responding under pressure, spotting weaknesses in other people's reasoning and expressing complex ideas persuasively in English. Expect disagreement, unexpected arguments and plenty of interaction, all while sharpening your language, communication, persuasion and critical-thinking skills under the guidance of a seasoned debate professional.
