Description
▼The female cycle and its effects on psychology ...
The female cycle and its effects on psychology is something people sometimes joke about, some never talk about, and others are bewildered about. It's very real and necessary for us all to understand so we can coexist in the best wat to possible. Let's get into it with a professional!
How much can the menstrual cycle actually influence mood, emotion and behaviour? And how much of what we think we know is myth? In this guided discussion, brilliant psychologist and counsellor David Ammerschlaeger will take us beneath the stereotypes and into the fascinating biology, neuroscience and psychology of the menstrual cycle. We'll explore how changing hormone levels can interact with the brain, stress, sleep, emotional regulation and individual psychology, why the experience can be dramatically different from one woman to another, and what research can, and can't, tell us about changes across different stages of the cycle.
For women, this is an opportunity to better understand patterns they may have noticed in their own bodies, emotions and behaviour, and to compare experiences without assuming there's one "normal" way to feel. For men, it's a chance to understand something that affects roughly half the population but is still surprisingly poorly understood and rarely discussed openly. Expect science, personal perspectives, thoughtful questions and probably a few myths being challenged along the way. This will be a respectful, accessible and genuinely fascinating conversation about the complicated relationship between our bodies, brains and behaviour, and why understanding that relationship can help us understand both ourselves and each other better.
