But when they act they seem so different! Welcome to a workshop where we'll practise one of the greatest and most useful skills in all aspects of life. Let's be actors!_x000D_ _x000D_ What makes a great film actor? Why are some able to deliver lines so much better than others? How do they decide which techniques to use for that perfect delivery? How do they develop chemistry with other actors? Actors are not writers, the words are given to them and they make those words come alive. They make the audience believe it. In this club, you'll learn and practice doing that using acting techniques and famous scenes._x000D_ _x000D_ For this club, we'll be doing actors what real actors do, we'll do table reads. When actors first receive a script they'll all sit down at a table and read through their lines. This is the beginning of everything! During the table read, a good actor will experiment and find ways to deliver the lines that do justice to the script and character. They'll give and take and bounce off each other as they build chemistry with their fellow actors. You will do this tonight!_x000D_ _x000D_ Mike has prepared a few scripts from well-known films and plays. You'll be assigned a role and we'll do table reads together. As we go, MIke will give you feedback and tips to be a stronger actor. And then, after a few tries, we'll watch the actual scene and see how the real actors did it._x000D_ _x000D_ This is about more than acting, this is about performing, and that's something we all do every day in every facet of our lives, so let's learn to do it well.
