What might Johnny Depp’s art reveal that his film performances don’t? And how much more do we notice when we explore an exhibition with someone who knows how to look beyond the surface? Join Anji, a Cannes-nominated film director and art expert with close ties to the Modern Art Museum’s curators, for a Walk & Talk through the Johnny Depp art exhibition in Shanghai. Part of Popcorn’s Social Experience series, this guided visit brings together art, conversation and the chance to discover a different side of a familiar cultural figure.

We’ll meet at the museum entrance and head inside together, with Anji introducing the pieces and opening up discussion about their ideas, details and possible meanings. Along the way, interactive activities will encourage us to look more closely, compare perspectives and express our impressions in English. No art knowledge or familiarity with Johnny Depp’s work is necessary—Anji’s passion and guidance will help everyone join in. Your entry ticket is included; bring your curiosity for a shared cultural experience that gives you more to see, think about and talk about.
