Description
▼What makes a leader great: their vision, their ...
What makes a leader great: their vision, their character, their achievements—or what they leave behind? Can someone be admired for transforming a country and criticised for how they did it? Join Adam, a politics and history expert, for a discussion exploring a selection of world leaders across history. We’ll examine the choices they made, the circumstances they faced and the reasons people remember them differently. Is greatness about doing what is right, delivering results, inspiring others? Or knowing when to step aside?
Together, we’ll compare figures and perspectives, question the standards we use to judge leadership, and consider whose lives improved—and whose voices might be missing from the story. All opinions are welcome, and you’re encouraged to bring your own examples of great leaders and explain what makes them worthy of that description. No prior knowledge of politics or history is necessary: Adam will provide the background, and our questions will drive the conversation. Then, on October 24th, he’ll explore the other side in a second club: what makes a terrible leader? Come ready to discover history, challenge your assumptions and think more deeply about the people we choose to admire.
