▼Has the AI honeymoon already ended? Only a few ...
Has the AI honeymoon already ended? Only a few years ago, artificial intelligence was being described as a technology that would transform almost everything, but as the hype meets the complicated reality of workplaces, education and everyday life, are people and companies becoming more sceptical about what it can actually deliver? Join Omar, Popcorn Club's resident tech expert, for a guided discussion that looks beyond both the breathless excitement and the usual doomsday predictions. Where is AI genuinely making us better, faster and more capable? And where might it quietly be making our work more generic, our thinking lazier, or our expectations unrealistic? And if some companies are becoming more cautious about AI, is the technology failing them, or did we simply expect too much, too quickly?
We'll also explore a stranger problem hiding beneath the surface: what happens when AI increasingly learns from content that was itself created by AI? Could we enter a feedback loop where machines reproduce the patterns, mistakes and mediocrity of other machines, while humans increasingly consume and imitate the same material? Most importantly, we'll turn the question back on ourselves. If AI can write, brainstorm, research, advise and even imitate our voices, how do we keep using an extraordinarily useful technology without slowly outsourcing the parts of ourselves that made it useful in the first place? Whether you use AI constantly, occasionally, reluctantly or barely at all, come ready to question something many of us already think we understand, and perhaps discover a few blind spots in the process.
