描述
▼What makes something luxurious: the name attach...
What makes something luxurious: the name attached to it, the materials, or the human skill we rarely stop to notice? Where does fashion end and art begin? Join Anji, a Cannes-nominated film director, fellow French citizen and longtime admirer of Coco Chanel, for a Popcorn Club Social Experience at the Museum of Art Pudong. CHANEL’s la Galerie du 19M Shanghai brings French and Chinese creativity into conversation through embroidery, textiles, ceramics, bamboo weaving and more, alongside an exhibition exploring a century of Lesage’s extraordinary embroidery and weaving. These works invite us to question craftsmanship versus status, tradition versus reinvention, and how ordinary materials become objects of extraordinary meaning.
Anji’s legendary Walk & Talks are reflective journeys into the world and ourselves, helping us notice details, and question assumptions, we might otherwise walk straight past. Through guided exploration, activities within the exhibition and deep discussion, you’ll look closely, form your own interpretations and regroup to share discoveries and reflections. What do we value when we admire something beautiful? Whose labour do we see, and whose remains invisible? Can an object preserve a culture while also changing it? No knowledge of fashion or art is necessary: Anji will help you find your own way into the work, with room for every perspective. Come ready to look differently, connect with others and discover how much a carefully observed object can reveal. The entry ticket is included.
