Simply put, it's when you can't understand another human being so you simply judge them on "what you would do" or on "what others have done to you in the past". This has a very low success rate, can be dangerous, and most people probably do it quite often._x000D_ _x000D_ So what does psychological projection tell us about the word? And ourselves?_x000D_ _x000D_ We all have fairly smart bodies that naturally know how to protect us from psychological pains. Projection, a defence mechanism, helps us form the way we understand the world. But the tricky thing is, when things aren't so clear-cut, it fools us into believing what we see is an ultimate objective truth when it very much isn't._x000D_ _x000D_ So what does it depend on? How can you know if you're projecting or being objective? How can you identify if the lens through which you see is based on emotion, trauma, or the truth? Without noticing, it is easy to get stuck with thick lenses that create unhealthy distortions and biases of the world. On the other hand, using simple observation and free association, you could look closer and see reality. This skill will bring you to another dimension of knowing!
