Studies show that even brief exposure to stereotypes can influence how we see others and how we behave ourselves, affecting everything from job interviews to classroom performance.

In this guided and respectful discussion, we’ll explore five common stereotypes about Westerners and five about Chinese people. There will be ones you’ve probably heard or even believe. Together, we’ll examine each one: where it comes from, how accurate it actually is, and what the real data tells us. We’ll also reflect on how these ideas shape our interactions, and what happens when we see people through the lens of assumption rather than understanding.
