DESCRIPTION:<a href="http://popcornclubshanghai.com/event/cognitive-bias-do
-you-have-it-25324/register">Cognitive Bias: Do you have it?
：你有吗?</a>\nWhy do you believe the things you believe? Why do you m
ake decisions in a certain way? What is cognitive bias? Simply put\, it's
a series of bugs in our software\; it's shortcuts that our brains use in m
aking decisions and judgments. These short cut often lead us to the wrong
decision or to believe in things that are incorrect. It makes thinking eas
y\, it makes us believe we're right when we're wrong\, and all in the name
of lazy thinking. Can this happen to you? Spoiler alert: everybody does i
 t! _x000D_ _x000D_ There's a lot more to it\, though\, in this club\, we'l
l break down and discuss cognitive bias._x000D_ _x000D_ Bystander apathy\,
group attribution error\, hindsight bias\, and identifiable victim effect
are just a few of the bugs we're all guilty of that stop us from using cr
itical thinking. Let's talk about these and others. Let's be objective abo
ut which ones we use most\, and let's see how they affect our own decision
-making and that of people around us. These biases affect everybody from C
EOs to world leaders to your parents to Popcorn Club hosts to you._x000D_
_x000D_ It is only in identifying them that we can free ourselves of these
engrained fallacies or at least try to minimize them. And the effect of d
oing so is a clear and open mind with boundless possibilities. Let's have
