DESCRIPTION:<a href="http://popcornclubshanghai.com/event/poetry-workshop-s
tage-vs-page-43018/register">Poetry Workshop: Stage Vs Page 诗歌工作
坊：舞台与书面</a>\nNo poetry knowledge or experience is necessary
for this club but an open mind and a little curiosity would be great. This
club will involve reading\, discussing and writing poems and it will be l
ots of fun!_x000D_ _x000D_ Poems\, like any art\, are subjective. What mak
es a poem resonate with you? What makes it beautiful to you? Another quest
ion we'll talk about in this club is: How does poetry on the page compare
to poetry performed on the stage?_x000D_ _x000D_ Ricky\, your host for ton
ight\, is a poet\, and he can't wait to take this journey with you! He's c
hosen a few poems from various authors for us to read together and attempt
to dissect their meanings. How do the writers play with language? How do
they use literary devices like metaphors and rhythm to sound beautiful? Wh
at emotions do they convey to you? And how do these poems sound if we perf
orm them on stage? Perhaps you'd like to try performing one for a supporti
ve audience of people just like you?_x000D_ _x000D_ Finally\, let's write
our own poems and perform them for each other! How will you use what you'v
e learned to communicate through poetry? We can't wait to find out! _x000D
