Critical Thinking: IQ\, GDP\, Analytics - What do these numbers say and do
n't say? </a>\nWhat does a number really tell you? If a country’s GDP ri
ses\, are its people truly better off? If someone has a high IQ score\, wh
at does that actually prove? If your social media analytics are strong\, d
oes that mean influence\, attention or something else? In this discussion\
, we’ll take familiar statistics: GDP\, IQ\, social media engagement rat
es and more\, and we'll do what most people don’t: slow down and examine
what we think they mean. Together\, we’ll draw conclusions from the num
bers first\, confidently and logically… and then we’ll begin to questi
on them. What can’t these numbers show? What do they hide? What assumpti
ons do we unconsciously add when we interpret them? And how might we uncov
er what lies beyond measurement? This session is less about finding the
“right” answers and more about strengthening the habit of asking bette
r questions. By moving back and forth between data and doubt\, conclusion
and curiosity\, you’ll experience critical thinking not as a slogan\, bu
t as a skill. Smart\, playful\, and quietly powerful\, this is an exercise
in learning how to think again about what you think you already know.
