DESCRIPTION:<a href="http://popcornclubshanghai.com/event/game-theory-for-r
 eal-life-work-family-social-strategy-45843/register">Game Theory For Real
Life: Work\, Family\, Social Strategy</a>\nGame theory is the study of str
ategic decision-making\; how people make choices when the best move depend
s not only on what you do\, but on what everyone else might do too. In thi
s session\, you'll apply its principles to scenarios involving problems in
work\, family and social strategy. Every day\, we play games without real
ising it. Who compromises first in an argument? How do you convince a coll
eague to cooperate when your interests aren't exactly the same? What happe
ns when two family members both refuse to back down? In this interactive w
orkshop\, award-winning debate coach Clayton will introduce some of game t
heory's most fascinating ideas and show how they appear constantly in ordi
nary life. But you won't just learn the theory\, you'll play it. Through g
ames\, challenges and negotiation scenarios involving family\, work and so
 cial situations\, you'll experiment with cooperation\, competition\, trust
\, compromise and strategy\, then unpack why different approaches succeede
d or failed. When should you cooperate\, and when should you stand your gr
ound? How can you create a win-win when two people want different things?
And can understanding the other person's incentives completely change the
way you negotiate? Expect clever games\, surprising outcomes\, plenty of i
nteraction and practical ideas you can use the next time you need to persu
ade\, negotiate\, cooperate—or simply understand why somebody else is be
having the way they are.
