DESCRIPTION:<a href="http://popcornclubshanghai.com/event/disagree-friendsh
 ip-what-do-we-owe-each-other-45846/register">DisAgree: Friendship - What D
o We Owe Each Other?</a>\nShould a real friend tell you if they think your
partner is terrible for you? Should you always take your best friend’s
side in an argument\, even when you think they’re wrong? And is it okay
to end a friendship simply because you’ve grown apart? This sill be a de
bate about the unwritten rules behind some of the most important relations
hips in our lives. We’ll argue\, in a friendly way\, about loyalty\, hon
 esty\, boundaries\, jealousy\, effort and when being a good friend means s
upporting someone\, and when it means telling them something they really d
on’t want to hear. Let's debate! As in all of Davie's DisAgree sessions\
, this isn’t about academic debate techniques\, and there are no winners
or losers. Everybody will speak\, take positions and challenge each other
\, with supportive feedback from Davie throughout. You’ll practice the s
kills that make disagreement useful in real life: listening actively\, und
erstanding the other person’s perspective\, responding directly instead
of simply waiting to speak\, and making arguments that are logical\, persu
asive\, focused and\, when necessary\, a little dramatic. No debate experi
ence is needed and all levels are welcome. Come ready to defend your ideas
\, question a few assumptions\, laugh at some uncomfortable friendship dil
emmas\, and perhaps discover that being a good friend is much more complic
 ated than it sounds.
Dav
