ked: Owning The Stage & Message </a>\nWhat would you say if you stopped wo
rrying about whether everyone in the room agreed with you? Inspired by psy
chologist Alfred Adler's idea of having the “courage to be disliked\,”
this public speaking workshop explores one of the biggest barriers to pow
erful communication: people-pleasing. For many English speakers\, especial
ly when communicating in a second language\, the instinct is to play it sa
fe\; choose generic phrases\, avoid strong opinions and worry constantly a
bout mistakes or offending someone. But memorable speakers don't try to be
universally agreeable. They develop a perspective\, express it clearly\,
support it thoughtfully and accept that sometimes the most interesting thi
ng you can say is something another person disagrees with. Guiding you thr
ough the process will be Violetta\, a TEDx public speaking coach and a tru
ly brilliant\, fun and patient human being who knows how to help people fi
nd confidence without pretending to be someone they're not. And you won't
just talk about courage\; you'll practise it on stage. You'll learn how to
structure and defend a bold opinion using reasoning and personal experien
ce before taking on the “Unpopular Opinion” Pitch: two minutes to pass
ionately argue a harmless but controversial position\, from “Introverts
make better leaders” to “Social media does more good than harm.” The
n comes spontaneous Q&A\, where you'll practise responding to challenges\,
thinking on your feet and continuing to communicate even when your Englis
h isn't perfect. This isn't about becoming louder\, more aggressive or mor
e controversial. It's about developing the confidence to stop hiding behin
d safe language and start saying something you genuinely mean\; a shift th
at can transform not only the way you speak in public\, but the way you co
 mmunicate everywhere. [...]
