ou need no acting skills at all to join this workshop. You'll learn and tr
y the whole acting process from table read to performance with a supportiv
e group\, led by a real\, passionate and warm director. You'll make mistak
 es\, you'll laugh\, you'll learn acting and speaking techniques\, you'll h
ave an awesome time! What happens between an actor’s first look at a scr
ipt and a scene coming to life? And what might you discover about yourself
  by stepping into someone else’s shoes? Join Noah\, a seasoned actor\, d
irector\, drama and literature professor—and a wonderfully warm guide—
for an acting workshop open to everyone. We’ll work with a scene from Da
vid Henry Hwang’s Chinglish\, a bilingual English and Chinese play set i
n Guizhou in 2011. No acting experience or belief in your own “talent”
is necessary: curiosity and a willingness to give it a try are all you ne
ed. We’ll begin by exploring the play and its characters\, move into a t
able read\, and then get on our feet to act out the scene. With Noah direc
ting\, we’ll practise how actors use intention\, voice\, movement and li
stening to make a scene feel alive\, while building public speaking skills
and confidence in expressing ourselves. We’ll make mistakes\, laugh\, t
ry a different approach and do it again—just as actors do in rehearsal.
Expect a playful\, thoughtful experience where you can surprise yourself\,
connect with others\, and discover new possibilities in how you speak\, m
ove and take up space.
No
