DESCRIPTION:<a href="http://popcornclubshanghai.com/event/watch-talk-hadest
 own-how-do-we-modernise-an-ancient-story-46082/register">Watch & Talk: Had
estown - How Do We Modernise An Ancient Story? </a>\nWhat is the soul of
a story? And how much can we change before we lose it? Join Noah\, a direc
tor and actor\, for a Watch\, Talk & Sing exploring Hadestown\, the Broadw
ay musical that transforms the ancient Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice
into a strikingly modern story. At its heart is a musician’s journey to
the underworld to bring back the woman he loves\, but its questions reach
far beyond mythology: love\, power\, trust and the struggle to hold on to
hope. What makes an old story speak to a new generation? Should we preserv
e its original values\, challenge them\, or discover meanings its first au
diences might never have imagined? Through selected scenes\, lively discus
sion and singing together\, we’ll explore how music\, performance\, sett
ing and character can give an ancient tale new life. Which changes deepen
a story\, and which turn it into something else entirely? Do storytellers
owe more to the original work or to the audience sitting before them? As f
amiliar myths continue to find new lives on stage and screen\, we’ll dis
cuss what makes a retelling feel both fresh and true. No knowledge of Gree
k mythology or Hadestown\, and no singing experience\, is needed—just cu
riosity and a willingness to watch\, question and add your voice.
