Description
▼Does loving someone mean wanting them all to yo...
Does loving someone mean wanting them all to yourself? Can commitment include the freedom to see other people? And why do some people find security in exclusivity while others feel more comfortable with different arrangements? From monogamy to polyamory, swinging and being “monogamish,” there are many ways people organise love, sex and commitment—and plenty of assumptions about what those choices say about them. What values lie behind each, and what might we misunderstand about relationships different from our own?
Join us for a lively, open-minded discussion exploring these relationship styles, what distinguishes them and why people choose them. Through relatable scenarios and thought-provoking questions, we’ll consider the appeal and challenges of each: security and independence, intimacy and variety, jealousy, trust and the practical limits of time and attention. Along the way, we’ll question common misconceptions and explore what makes an agreement feel fair to everyone involved. No prior knowledge or personal disclosures needed, just curiosity about how people make relationships work.
